Can Migraines cause Brain Damage?

Recent research published in the Journal of the American headache Society reports that people with frequent migraine headaches or a long history of migraines are at an increased risk of progressive brain damage.

Scientists in the Netherlands recently discovered that migraines sufferers, have an increased risk for brain damage. Scientists from the Netherlands used MRI to examine 28 migraine patients and found that those participants that experienced 3 or more migraine monthly, demonstrate a higher incidence of brain abnormalities. Patients with 15 years of migraine headaches also demonstrated the same tendencies.
